Raposeira is a small village on the west coast of the Algarve.
The village has a very nice and rural atmosphere. It's inhabitants are still very connected to traditional activities, like farming and fishing.
The village is in the Natural Park of Sudoeste Alentejano and Costa Vicentina.
The landscape is wild and beautiful, with it's impressive coast being a major feature.
The south coast (5km from Raposeira) is calm and friendly, the west coast (also 5km away) is wild and impressing. The Cape Saint Vincent is the corner of the two - a spectacular place admired since the Antiquity. The Romans called it Sacrum Promontorium (from which derived it's present name, Sagres), and they said that at the end of the day you could hear the sound of the sun diving into the sea!
